A personal point of view
Travel stories with substance
Silken Asia began with a simple conviction: the most useful travel advice comes from being present. Not passing through, but listening closely—to the people who live there, to the rhythms of a landscape, and to the details that rarely make it into a conventional itinerary.
The journal’s perspective is grounded in formal study of Marketing Management and firsthand experience working closely with local travel and transport professionals. That combination offers a view from both sides of a journey: how places are presented to the world, and how they are actually navigated, supported, and experienced on the ground.
We speak with guides, drivers, independent hosts, craftspeople, and hospitality teams before shaping our recommendations. Where possible, journeys are experienced firsthand; practical details are checked carefully; and every story is written with respect for the culture and community at its centre.
“The aim is not to collect places, but to understand them—one unhurried journey at a time.”
Silken Asia remains independent in its editorial judgment. Our purpose is to help thoughtful travelers make better-informed choices and find experiences that feel meaningful long after they return home.
